Students in the college cut across cultural , communal, religious, social and financial lines. Besides the SC and ST students, there are naturally many from Bengal Other states represented are Bihar, UP, Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan , Darjeeling, Sikkim, Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Gujarat. There are also students from Bangladesh, Nepal and the USA.
